Society of Sussex Painters, Sculptors and Printmakers

Jan Mnich MA

Jan has always worked as an artist. Firstly as a textile designer, then an illustrator and now as a painter.

Her work is mainly watercolour and in 2000 she exhibited at the Royal Watercolour Society in London with a picture called “Purple Flower”.

Flowers and the natural environment, especially the South Downs and Sussex cliffs are regular features of her work. As she lives overlooking the sea, the changing qualities of water are a fascination for her too.

Jan enjoys travelling, so inspirations have been the Mediterranean light, architecture and landscapes of different countries including North Africa, Turkey and New Zealand.

Jan exhibits regularly in various galleries and venues in the South of England, including The Brighton Festival Artists Open Houses.

As well as being a member of The Society of Sussex Painters, she is also part of Sussex Arts Collective.
